SAPA TREKKING TOUR BY TRAIN

BRIEF ITINERARY: 

  • NIGHT1: Ride an overnight train to Lao Cai City 
  • DAY 1: Whole day trekking the stunning valleys of Sapa 
  • DAY 2: Morning free at leisure, Afternoon trek in Ta Phin Valley and take the night rain back to Hanoi.

DETAILED ITINERARY

NIGHT 1: RIDE AN OVERNIGHT TRAIN TO LAO CAI CITY

You will be picked up at your hotel in Hanoi about 8:00 PM and transferred to Hanoi train station. Spend tonight at a private A/c cabin. The train takes about 7 hours to Lao Cai City. Expecting an early arrival tomorrow.

DAY 1: TREK THE MUONG HOA VALLEY

This morning you will arrive at Lao Cai train station early (About 5:30 PM), get off the train and you will be picked up by your driver and making your way uphill to Sapa town. The drive takes 1 hour. Arrive in town, you will be placed at a restaurant for refreshing and having breakfast. After that, you will have your big bags stored before the trek today. At 8: 30, get a short transfer to a trekking point to Y Ling Ho Village, Muong Hoa Valley. Muong Hoa is the biggest valley in Sapa region and bottomed by a rocky river. To start, you trek downhill the valley, the scenery of the rice terraces along your way are very beautiful and be the highlight of the day. Crossing the river on a small suspension bridge and continue the trek uphill. This is rather challenging when it is wet but definitely offers you spectacular view over the valley. Finish your morning scenic trek at Lao Chai Village where your private vehicle awaits you. Get on your car and drive down to Ban Ho Village for lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we will spend 2,5 hours trek the peaceful path to Nam Toong Red Yao village and down to the main road for the late afternoon drive back to Sapa. Check in your hotel, relax and enjoy the dinner. Overnight in Sapa.

DAY 2: TREK THE MUONG HOA VALLEY

Today is free at leisure and doing your own things. An optional activity today that you may be interested in is taking a cable-car ride to Fansipan Peak, the Top of Indochina (Approx. time is about 3 hour in total). At 2:00 PM, get picked up and transferred to Ma Tra Village and embark the last trek on a small concrete path to Ta Phin Village. Followed by one-hour drive downhill to Lao Cai City for dinner at a restaurant before the overnight train ride back to Hanoi. Next morning, you will get picked up by a private car to your hotel in the city. End of service.
